About TCMStudy

The story behind the courses.

Hi, I’m Nicholas

Licensed Acupuncturist · NCBAHM Diplomate · MSTOM · Former Adjunct Faculty

I’m a licensed acupuncturist and the creator of TCMStudy.net. I used to teach Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology at a college in California, but now I just do it online. I create videos, handouts, practice tests, and review courses for students working their way through a TCM program.

My goal is to help students get through their program, pass their tests, and really understand the material at a deeper level. Because I believe that a better, deeper understanding of TCM means better outcomes for your patients.

Why These Courses Exist

Herbology is hard.

There’s so much information and so much to memorize, it gets overwhelming very quickly.

These reviews are designed to streamline the information and make it easier to understand and easier to remember.

“The most beneficial aspect of your review was the way you organized and streamlined the content instead of regurgitating the entire Materia Medica.

Also your use of visual aids like emojis, sidebar explanations of histories and how certain herbs/formulas got their names as well as the ‘Quick Reviews’ you do at the end of each section was incredibly helpful.”

– Brandon

Beyond that, I always thought it was easier to remember things when you understand them instead of just memorizing. So these courses help you build connections and understand the why behind the herbs and formulas, not just memorize. It doesn’t hurt to add in some humor and make it fun too.

With stories, fun visuals, and clear explanations, you’ll be able to remember what you’ve learned without boring hours of rote memorization.

Ready to Review?

There are separate courses for Single Herbs and Herbal Formulas, so you can start with just one.
But if you’re studying for boards, you’ll probably want the bundle with both courses.
